It's a wide-ranging and varied role. You might be called into a company to help them work out how to reduce their transport costs without compromising on quality. You may also be asked to devise and supervise the creation of new transport solutions. That requires you to be knowledgeable on finance, law and all kinds of vehicles, for which you'll need certification and an understanding of mechanics.
