The volcano has not but three different volcanic cones called Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. The peak of Kilimanjaro measures 4,900 meters (which is about 16,100 ft.) from its base, or if you count it from the sea level, that makes its peak stand 5,895 meters tall (19,341 ft.). The first explorers to reach the peak of the summit are Hans Meyer, Yohana Kinyala Lauwo and Ludwig Purtscheller in 1889. Today, the mountain is part of the Kilimanjaro National Park and is a major climbing destination for travelers from the whole world.
