But what many don't know is that Stallone's rise to prominence wasn't always sweet. At one point in time, he was homeless and wrote the script for Rocky himself at a local library during the day and was even underpaid for the first film. But now, he's rolling in the dough.

During the filming of The Expendables, his fight scene with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so intense he suffered a fractured neck that required surgery, this is what Stallone had to say about the ordeal, "Actually, my fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. I'm not joking. I haven't told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards. I now have a metal plate in my neck."
