Debbi Fields

Debbi Fields

Pictured here is Debbi Fields, a historic woman in the world of baseball. At the age of 13, she was hired as one of the first “ball girls” in Oakland. Ball girls were girls hired by the baseball teams to throw balls from the foul area. In this photo you can see that she's having a great time being a part of the game. I'm sure that throwing balls alongside some of the greats was quite a thrill.

She isn't only a pioneer in baseball. You might know her from her cookie business, Mrs. Fields cookies. That's right. She is THAT Mrs. Fields. She started the company with her husband, Randy Fields. They later divorced, but the cookie company still stands strong. She has also appeared on several TV shows including Frazier and the New Hollywood Squares.
