Young Dale Earnhardt

Young Dale Earnhardt

You may not like race car driving, but I can guarantee you one thing: you know the name Dale Earnhardt. He is the most famous and popular Nascar driver, or should I say “was.” He tragically died on February 18th, 2001 while competing in the Daytona 500. During the final lap, he was part of a three-car crash that killed him instantly. It is insanely ironic that he would die on the final lap. Nascar stock cars go in excess of 200 miles per hour, so when the tiniest of mistakes are made, the damage is absolutely devastating. That being said, there is nothing like the thrill of driving that fast.

He began racing when he was 24 years old and was given the title, “The Intimidator.” He won seven Winston Cup Championships and is now followed by his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr who is also a Nascar driver.
