The band was no longer able to perform, and to compound the issue, Stein and Harry were in a relationship. Instead of continuing her career, Harry took time away to care for him. She was away longer than she intended to be.
It would be 1997 before Blondie and Harry were back in the charts, with Stein recovered and Harry back on vocals. She was a little older, and some of her youthful swagger had disappeared, but the voice was still unmistakably hers. Blondie continues to perform, having released their most recent album in 2017.
