Some parents naturally transition from breast milk to formula after the first year or so. That's because the formula didn't contain the right nutrients for a growing baby and contained others that babies weren't able to digest. The exception that Cooper made was that she allowed Grace to have breast milk. Since Grace was too young to digest meats and plants, breast milk was a natural way to ensure she got all the nutrients she needed. Some of you may not be surprised that she made this exception, but many Paleo parents are strictly against any form of milk.
